Ibanez jem swirl
I recently swirled a wanna-be jem body using Humbrol enamels (French Blue, #68 Purple, and gloss black, customers request) the body was first prepped using a white primer base followed by a krylon “Glow Green” spray lacquer. It was then wet sanded with 1000 grit and then dipped! Music is of course by the one and only Steve Vai “Liberty” Thought it was fitting…
I wanted to compare the sounds of these three great signature guitars and realized how the Line6 amp makes them sound almost identical. They are all played through a Line6 Vetta II connected to my mac via line out and a mixer. It’s the same patch on the three guitars. Pickups are all in bridge position and potis are full on.

Hey bro, If you didn’t notice in the description these were the color choices of the customer that bought it. He wanted a green base with those colors swirled. he was the one who swirled it (Which in my opinion he over-swirled the fuck out of the paint), i just set up everything for the dip. As for the second vid, he wanted another one done with the same color scheme. I always use white as a base otherwise the colors will be opaque.
sorry dude but that looks awful, why have you put a green base coat on a guitar that is gonna be swirled black, blue and pink??? The base should be white. if you were swirling it black and yellow would you still use a green base?….. No you would use a yellow base, same as in my vids I use green base for green/ black swirl, orange base for orange/ black swirl. as you are using more than 2 colours you need to use a white base. good luck.

Oh ok….You just tape it all up. Tape right along the edge of the headstock and make sure your neck is completely covered so no water gets on you fretboard and warp it.
hey man thanks for replying…ive already been on that website and got all the stuff and am in the process of sanding…..i meant how did you do just the headstock without dipping the neck
how do you dip the headstock like the one at the end?

washburn sounded like crap compared to the other two imo. Thin sounding if anything.

nice guitars. I like the Jem cause I think the tremelo just seems to work better than anything else I’ve tried. The musicman JPs with a piezo are amazing though.

They all sound great. The Ibanez and Music Man sound very similar. To me the Washburn sounds a bit brighter. Cool video.
jem wins for overall best guitar with best specs and highest grade material. the musicman is probably the most versatile, while the washburn is probably the most comfortable due to the neck thru design and the super deep cutaway. depends what you want, but the jem still wins
this is a great comp test,the N4 is s cool,they all sound good too..

The N4 does sound a bit different to the others.(esp the harmonics).. all sound good tho, but i guess each has its own character..

also don’t use line6 in this demo, try use marshall or any other amp
all sounds the same and very digital. isn’t it possible to make a new demo using analog mic and recorder? i think direct-to-the-computer recording method diminish the real sound. i like the ibanez jem but really i can’t hear their real tones here
