Tom Barney of Steely Dan plays ESP bass guitar

Back in the 70′s ESP produced great bass guitars and still do today. I checked out some bassist blogs and they have a lot of good things to say about them. Tom Barney of Steely Dan fame has played ESP for decades. Another player of ESP guitars is Akira Takasaki, one of the founders of LOUDNESS, a famous Japanese metal band. Akira and George Azuma also formed a company to produce the brand ‘Killer Guitars’. These instruments have received very good reviews. They play both Killer and ESP while on tour and in the recording studio. I heard Akira play his Inspiration guitar solo on a Killer Guitar and it was awesome!

Looking years back at Steely Dan, this video clip is somewhat fuzzy but the sound is still great. Wolfman Jack introduced Steely Dan on the Midnight Special show in 1973 where they played their iconic song ‘Do it Again’. The sound is from the studio track so it does not quite synch with TV visuals. It still sounds so cool!
